Visit of our Rector Major, Rev. Fr. Pascual Chávez Villanueva

(11 Nov.2013 )(Sr.Vinitha Crasta) We were indeed blest with a very surprise visit of our Visit of our Rector Major, Rev. Fr. Pascual Chávez Villanueva 3Rector Major, Rev. Fr. Pascual Chávez Villanueva to Don Bosco, Matunga Mumbai. FMAs  from our communities of Mumbai had the privilege to meet personally on 11th November 2013. Even though his stay in Mumbai was short yet it was amazing that the Rector Major made time for us his ghters. We were fortunate to listen to his precious words. It was as though we were listening to “Don Bosco himself”. He spoke with so much Visit of our Rector Major, Rev. Fr. Pascual Chávez Villanueva 5affection and love. It was a grace filled moment for all of us – the FMA’s of the Province of St. Mary Mazzarello, Mumbai.

In his short message he stressed on going back to Don Bosco to make his inspirations our own in order to make his presence really felt today among the young people through us. He said that we are living in a beautiful moment of the Salesian Family where we are preparing ourselves for the Bicentenary of the Birth of Don Bosco and it is necessary that we make Don Bosco come alive and make his system of Education, the ???????????????????????????????Preventive system bear much fruit as we educate the young. He stated that the pilgrimage of the casket of Don Bosco’s relic was a real blessed time for the entire Salesian Family as Don Bosco has bestowed his loving blessings on his children. Through the visit of the relic of Don Bosco many have experienced real miracles in their lives. We had the opportunity to touch Don Bosco and that was a great experience.

The Recto???????????????????????????????r Major told us that we as members of the Salesian Family we should grow and work together as a large movement. He appealed to us to open the door of the heart of the young with our loving kindness and offer them the opportunities to make them good and honest citizens.

We have to make to make sacrifices and like Christ give ourselves totally as we lead the young to holiness.

Viva Don Bosco! Viva Don Pascual Chávez Villanueva!

Visit of the Vicar General, Fr. Adriano Bregolin

(10 Nov. 2013) (Sr.Celsa Magalhaes) The members of the Salesian Family comprising SDBs FMAs, Salesian Co-operators, Past Pupils, ADMA were privileged to have Rev. Fr. Adriano Bregolin, the Vicar General in our midst on 10 November 2013 at Don Bosco, Matunga, Mumbai. Fr. Adriano Bregolin is also charge of the Salesian Family.

Salesian Family 3We could see in him, – A man of God after the Heart of Christ, simple, humble and yet intellectual. In his 30 minutes informative and inspiring talk he challenged us to be true followers of Don Bosco Our Founder. He started his talk by posing some relevant questions such as “What does it mean to be a member of the Salesian Family? What does the Lord wants of us today? Is the Salesian Family growing according to the Salesian Charism? Or according to the Founders Charism? Each Congregation has its own founder like St. Benedict, St. Ignatius, St. John Bosco, etc. Each of them has left a beautiful spirituality to follow. Today there are 30 Salesian Family groups and many are looking forward to join this vast family of Don Bosco.

???????????????????????????????We have to grow and renew in the devotion to Mary. Allowing Mary to lead and guide us as did Don Bosco in his life. Our congregation is is founded directly under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and the loving intervention of Mary Help of Christians. Charismatic spirit is the foundation and we are called to the voice of Christ in this world. We must bear witness to Him by means of our life and our mission of Education, working together, collaborating with each other concretely to be God’s disciples. Fr. Adriano also expressed his happiness that the FMAs in Sri Lanka are doing a good job for woman in prison. He beckoned us to carry on the responsibility to work after the heart of Don Bosco and be happy here on earth and thereafter in heaven.

There are no magic formulas. Enculturation is very important and it is the need of the hour. We have to empower the members of the Salesian Family. In some countries, ???????????????????????????????Oratories and Education is run by the Past Pupils and the Salesian Cooperators. Our goal is one and the same. Let us not cease to evangelize and spread Gospel values. Finally he exhorted us to work for a unified Salesian Charism and promote vocations by the witness of our life.

Viva Don Bosco! Viva Don Adriano Bregolin!
