Mumbai Province (INB)
24th July 2013, dawned withgreat excitement and happiness, as seven candidates aspiring to be Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and desiring to follow in the footsteps of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello were accepted as Aspirants by our Provincial, Rev. Sr. Wilma De Souza at St. Joseph Training Centre Lonavla.
During the solemn Eucharistic Celebration in the beautiful chapel, five Aspirants entered into Postulancy, which is a stage of immediate preparation for the Novitiate. They received the Postulancy Medal from the hands of Rev. Sr. Wilma De Souza.
The theme of the day was “Every step I take, I take in You, Jesus”. It was really a memorable day for our precious budding candidates as they took their first and second step into Religious Life. We assist them with our prayerful support.
Welcome to FMA INDIA LINKS!
It is an established fact that the present era is often called the ‘Age of Communication and Information.’ The importance of communication has been greatly emphasized by the Modern World. “From the clock radio that wakes us up in the morning until we fall asleep watching the late night talk show, we are exposed to hundreds even thousands of images and ideas not only from television but now also from newspapers, headlines, magazines covers movies, websites, blogs, videos games and billboards.(Gong 4 “Educommunication” Taking small steps in the New Culture)
Media and the need to communicate are no longer just shaping our culture… they are our culture today. The young are imbibed in the Modern Trends of Media (Media & Values Magazine n 57)
I am glad to present to you the FMA INDIA LINKS blog. The FMA INDIA LINKS blog we will enhance our communion with the FMA of the six Provinces, the Educating community and the young. It is a very essential that each one of us take it to task of building network through the FMA INDIA Links. This can be attained only by taking one step at a time. We have started traveling our journey of networking in the past in some ways. It is would be wonderful that we reinforce our effort to make FMA INDIA more visible to the virtual world. We know our target and we are certain that we will achieve it. It is important for us to take that one step and then we go for the next many steps. A plant cannot become a tree in one day. It grows daily, spreads its roots slowly and then it becomes such a huge tree gradually that it can support many purposes. In the same way, our dreams for FMA INDIA Links is like a plant which daily needs to be nurtured to help nurture. So let us contribute to this initiative and share our news/views or the happenings of our Provinces. Through the FMA INDIA LINKS blog we will avail ourselves of the information of other Provinces, foster unity, appreciated various cultures, promote vocations and above all grow in the sense of FMA INDIA oneness
GC XXIII theme, “Being with the young people today, a home that evangelizes” is inviting us to be like Mary and make space for the Word of God in our hearts and our homes and together with our young people make the love of God known to others. It is an opportunity to live by the one rule of love in the warmth of the Salesian Family Spirit where all are included and together we create a model of networking revealing to all the might deeds of God done to us and through us. May this experience enable us to own FMA INDIA LINKS and take forward this initiative. FMA INDIA LINKS will lead us to have our own FMA INDIA Website in the future.
We ask Mary, our Mother and Teacher to guide and help us to be true evangelizers of the foreseeing love of God for the whole of humanity.
